No visit to Tokyo is complete without a visit to Mipig Cafe!

Mipig Cafe is a micro pig house. Basically here you can meet micro pigs.

What is a Micro Pig?

To learn all about micro pigs, please visit this site www.mipig.co.jp. In addition to information about the micro pigs, you will just get more micro pig cuteness on this site.

Basically, micro pigs originated in the UK and are very popular in Japan. Other than being micro, they are smart, clean, friendly, and less likely to cause animal allergies. Oh...did I also mention they are super duper cute?

Our Visit to Mipig Cafe

Our visit to Mipig Cafe was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan! It's such a unique experience to be able to spend a little time with these delightful pigs!

As of this writing it costs around 800 yen (approximately $8.00 US) to spend 30 minutes with the micro pigs. They do require you to order 1 drink while there. I seem to remember we had orange juice. 🙂 If you'd like to stay longer than 30 minutes, you can do so for an extra 500 yen for each additional 30 minutes.

When you arrive, you will need to wash and sanitize your hands, as well as remove your shoes and don slippers. 🙂 At the time we visited, 3 parties (us, another couple, and a new friend we met!) were ushered into a small room upstairs and given an orientation. This orientation basically advised how we were to handle (or not handle the micro pigs.) And then they brought them in!

Oh what a delight it was to see them come into the room! They brought them in with bowls of food, and let them eat to begin with. Look at their tails wag in delight!!

After they finished eating, they run around and that's when you can play with them a bit. 🙂

They really were playful! They jumped up on the seat we were on, and allowed us to pet them. Please know that one of the rules is that guests are not allowed to pick them up, however, you can see that if they come up on their own accord it is perfectly ok to pet them. 🙂

Why Visit Mipig Cafe?

You MUST pay a visit to Mipig Cafe if visiting Tokyo! This is such a unique and fun experience, especially if you are an animal lover like I am.

The micro pigs are the most adorable, and truly I wish I could have taken one home with me!

Even if you visit for the minimum of 30 minutes, you will come home with a lifetime of memories. 🙂

The animals are well taken care of, and I can see how spending time with these beautiful creatures is such a wonderful escape from the pressures of work and regular life.

Please visit www.mipig.cafe.en for more information, and for micro pig cuteness overload! You won't believe how cute until you see for yourself!!!

There are 2 locations in Tokyo - one in Harajuku, and one in Meguro.

You Will Enjoy This Additional Animal Experience If Visiting Japan!

Japan has so many amazing opportunities to get up close and personal with animals!

Another amazing and not to be missed experience is Nara Deer Park in Nara, Japan. Nara is close to Kyoto and makes an excellent day trip if staying in Kyoto!
