I just found my new FAVORITE condiment. Belizen Hot Pepper Onion Sauce!
Recently I relived our trip to Belize by cooking up some Belizean recipes. Eating the Belizean food took me back to Belize. I felt like I was visiting this amazing country just by sitting at my table and eating the food of Belize.
I made some Belizean Stewed Chicken, Rice and Beans and Stewed Beans. And the perfect condiment to go with them? Belizean Hot Pepper Onion Sauce. 🙂
This condiment is incredibly delicious. Also it is sooooo very simple to make. The short list of ingredients includes onion, habanero peppers, cilantro, whole allspice, salt, vinegar, and water. Once allowed to marinate the flavor intensifies so you have this vinegary, habanero spicy, oniony sauce.
You MUST try this. Put it on your tacos, eggs, meats, hot dogs, tostadas..put it on everything. 🙂

I am just so in love with this Belizean Hot Pepper Onion Sauce! I want to share it with as many people as possible!
Literally 5 minutes prep, and preferably overnight marinading and you will have your new favorite condiment ready to pair with your favorite foods!

Enjoy! PS. The allspice is just for flavoring…don’t consume the allspice. 🙂

I have a question. How long does it stay good before going bad? Am I suppose to put the unused portion in the refrigerator? If you mentioned it and I missed it I’m sorry. Thank you
Hi Brandy! Thanks for your questions and hope you are well! Great questions which I had not addressed….yes, please refrigerate the unused portion. From my own experience I have eaten it after a few months of being in the fridge but I recommend consuming it in about a month or so. The flavors intensify after awhile (still so tasty!) but it’s not as fresh after so long. I hope this helps! If you did make it would love your feedback if you have time. Thank you so much and I wish you and your family a very Happy New Year! Grace
