I just found my new FAVORITE condiment. BELIZEAN HOT PEPPER ONION SAUCE!
Recently I relived our trip to Belize by cooking up some Belizean recipes. Eating the Belizean food took me back to Belize. I felt like I was visiting this amazing country just by sitting at my table and eating the food of Belize.
This condiment is incredibly delicious. It is sooooo very simple to make, and once allowed to marinate the flavor intensifies so you have this vinegary, habanero spicy, oniony sauce.
You MUST try this. Put it on your tacos, eggs, meats, tostadas..put it on everything. 🙂

Literally 5 minutes prep, and preferably overnight marinading and you will have your new favorite condiment ready to pair with your favorite foods!

Belizean Hot Pepper Onion Sauce
- 1 lg onion minced
- 3 habanero peppers sliced widthwise (deseed if you would like less heat, leave the seeds if you like it hot!)
- 8 allspice seeds
- 1/2 cup cilantro minced
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 ts salt
- Combine all these amazing ingredients and marinade overnight or better yet, 12 hrs or more!
