🔪 Instructions
So here are the easy step by step instructions to make this Chinese walnut recipe!
Start by adding ⅓ cup sugar to a small bowl that can withstand heat, and ⅓ cup peanut oil to a wok. Set both aside for now.
Bring a large pot of water to the boil. When the water is boiling, add the walnuts and boil at a rapid boil for 3 minutes. Drain the walnuts and add the hot drained walnuts to the bowl containing the sugar.
By the way, boiling walnuts reduces bitterness.
Toss the hot walnuts with the sugar until well combined.

Heat the wok with peanut oil on a high heat. Once the oil is very hot, add the sugared covered walnuts to the oil, and stir fry until the walnuts turn golden brown. You will want to stir fry continuously. This took me 5 minutes, however your time may vary.

Once golden brown, remove the walnuts using your slotted spoon and put them back in your bowl. Now add the sesame seeds and toss well.

Allow to cool to room temperature before enjoying!
