Belizean Hot Pepper Onion Sauce

A habanero spicy, oniony, and vinegary sauce from the amazing country of Belize! Literally 5 minutes to put together plus a little marinating time, and you will have an incredible condiment to pair with your favorite foods!!!

  • 1 lg onion minced
  • 3 habanero peppers sliced widthwise (deseed if you would like less heat, leave the seeds if you like it hot!)
  • 8 allspice seeds
  • 1/2 cup cilantro minced
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 ts salt


  • Combine all these amazing ingredients and marinade overnight or better yet, 12 hrs or more!


The flavors of this incredible condiment intensify the longer you leave it to marinate!  Use more or less habaneros to vary the level of heat.  Pair it with your favorite meats, add it to tacos, tostadas, guacamole...use your imagination and enjoy!
