New York Style Hot Dogs

Enjoy a taste of New York City with these sauerkraut and spicy brown mustard laden New York Style Hot Dogs!

- 4 ea Nathan's Hot Dogs
- 8 oz sauerkraut I used Frank's Hot Dog Kraut
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion thinly sliced
- ½ cup ketchup
- ½-1 ts cayenne
- spreadable butter
- 4 each hot dog buns
- 4 oz spicy brown mustard
Heat up 1 tb olive oil in a skillet on med - med high heat. Once heated, add the onion to the skillet, and cook until lightly browned.
Add the ketchup and cayenne pepper, and cook for about 1 minute. Then keep onion mixture warm while you prepare the hot dogs and buns.
Cook the hot dogs in a skillet until golden brown.
Preheat your broiler. Open the hot dog buns and spread a light layer of spreadable butter on the insides of the bun. Toast the hot dog buns under a broiler under just lightly brown. Watch this closely so they don't burn!
Place each hot dog in a bun and top with sauerkraut, some of the onion mixture, and as much spicy brown mustard as you'd like!
