Hot Pickled Okraoptional BUT Essential if you know what I mean! For garnish :-)
Combine 6 cups of water with the Zatarain's Gumbo Mix in a large saucepan. Stir well and bring to the boil.
Reduce heat to low, and then cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Stir in your shrimp and stewed tomatoes, and then cover and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, or until the rice is tender.
Remove from heat, and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
Garnish with green onions and some delicious Hot Pickled Okra!
Delicious Shrimp Gumbo on the table in around 30 minutes will make you very happy! Feel free to be creative and add mix ins of your own choice, for example okra, or chopped up green or red pepper if you like! Enjoy this taste of New Orleans!!
