Saint Andre Triple Cream Cheese - France

Saint Andre Cheese

I am a recovering cheese addict. A few years ago, I would eat a fairly large sized piece of cheese while cooking dinner each and every night. I still love cheese, but my waistline is grateful that I have gotten away from this habit.

However I do like to indulge my cheese obsession every once in awhile, and look forward to writing lots about one of my favorite foods....cheese.

Saint Andre Triple Cream Cheese - France

Saint Andre Cheese

So allow me to introduce you to Saint Andre Triple Cream Cheese. Saint Andre cheese is delicious. It is a French cheese made out of cow's milk. It has a very high fat content (75%) and it is triple cream.

The rind, which is edible, is tangy and covered with white powdery mold. Please don't let this put you off...the rind is actually my favorite part!

The inside of the cheese is yellowy-white, and the taste is buttery, creamy, and decadent. Heavy cream is added to the cheese when it is manufactured, which makes it taste so rich!

Suggestions For Pairings

This soft cheese should be served at room temperature. I read that the manufacturer suggests that it be paired with a crusty baguette, a light beer, or a slice of pear. We enjoyed the Saint Andre cheese with the baguette, muscat grapes, a spinach salad, and some Chardonnay.

Please forgive the "Let it Brie" cheese knife in the photograph. 🙂 The Saint Andre is not actually a Brie, but is described as "an intense version of Brie," which is another famous soft cheese of France.

Brie is one of the 1,000 foods listed in the book 1,000 Foods To Eat Before You Die, by Mimi Sheraton. I look forward to writing a post about Brie soon, however my preference leans toward stronger tasting cheeses, of which Saint Andre is one.

Where To Buy St Andre Cheese

We bought our St Andre French Triple Cream Cheese at Trader Joe's. I'd like to recommend Trader Joe's as a great place to buy cheese! Their prices are right, and whenever my husband goes to Trader Joe's he comes back with way too much cheese. (If there can be such a thing as way too much cheese.) 🙂

You can also buy Saint Andre cheese here on Amazon.

Try the Saint Andre triple cream cheese next time you have a cheese craving! You'll absolutely love it.

Cheers!
